Hi [insert name],

On Jan.16, 2024, communities across the country will participate in the National Day of Racial Healing. It’s a special day to acknowledge the values we share, build trust in each other, form genuine connections and inspire collective action that furthers #HowWeHeal from the effects of racism. This is the 8th annual observance.

There will be two events hosted by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in partnership with NBCNews and Telemundo:

  • The NBC News NOW special event from Los Angeles, CA will debut at 9 p.m. EST / 6 p.m. PST on Friday, January 12.
  • A Spanish language special from Los Angeles will debut at 7 p.m. EST / 4 p.m. PST on Saturday, January 13 on Telemundo’s website, YouTube, Facebook , and Twitter/X and will be broadcasted on Telemundo on Saturday, January 20 at 5 p.m. EST / 2 p.m. PST.

[Add information about the opportunity to attend or participate in locally hosted events, if available.]

The day is also a good opportunity to open up spaces for conversation, either one-on-one or with small groups in your neighborhoods, community spaces and organizations. There is a conversation guide and other resources available at the newly-designed website: www.DayofRacialHealing.org.

Please let me know if you would like to talk more about opportunities to advance racial healing and racial equity in our community. I’m very excited about this year’s National Day of Racial Healing and I hope that you’ll join in participating.
